In the Dawn Wars, Jeton was one of the most beloved and charismatic, but most conceited and naïve, of the angels, and possessed of a brilliant and calculating mind. He was a leader and a tactician who could best any planed forged by brute archons, but who could be tricked easily by more subtle forces. A servant of Love, he was also greatly fond of the World and mortals, finding himself unable to remain detached. When the Primal Spirits created the devas, he was one of the first to accept the new form, and convinced many other angels to follow. As a parting gift, and a warning, a spark of divine love was planted in Jeton’s heart, though he could make little use of it as he was. Drawn to the flesh far more than most devas, and far less resistant to its call, Jeton’s incarnations were often imperiled by impurity, and many were the forces who preyed on his weakness and sought to use his influence. His romances were many, but none went well, and the passions and sorrows wore on his soul. Eventually, he fell, or nearly did, and either was or nearly was a rakshasa. From this state he died and rose as a revenant, in the shape of the woman who damned him, saved him, or both. In his time as a revenant his force of personality faded but was replaced with hard-won wisdom, eventually awakening the divine love within him and granting him the power of an invoker while burning away his death-like form and reincarnating him as a deva once more. Despite his new life, his rebirth was ill-omened. Rather than being born in a sacred place amidst beauty and calm, he returned to the world amidst a terrible storm, emerging without possessions beyond the cliffs of Casalle, high above the waters of the raging sea into which he promptly fell. He survived by chance, as a boat that was desperate for harbor had spotted his fall and dragged him out of the waves. His latest form has sky blue skin and hair the color of the sun, both slightly darkened and dull as if the sky were viewed through a haze or the approach of twilight. His cloudy gray markings are sparse and seemingly hidden, only manifesting below his neckline and to his elbows and knees, and bear the shape of a rakshasa’s stripes. In the seven years since his rebirth, Jeton has been studying to determine the details of his history, and to understand the powers now accessable to him while spreading and protecting love as best he can, though he now struggles to influence others.
